About the Blue Mountain Ski Area

The Blue Mountain Ski Area, as you might guess, is located on Blue Mountain in the northern region of the Lehigh Valley.  The nearest town to the ski area is Palmerton, but locals from Bethlehem, Allentown, Philadelphia, Wilmington, and even New York City have easy access to the mountain. Blue Mountain has a summit of elevation of 1,407 feet with the biggest vertical drop of any ski resort in Pennsylvania at 1,087 feet.

The Best Blue Mountain Trails

Blue Mountain Ski Area is a premier destination for winter sports in Pennsylvania due in part to its large number of trails. There are 39 trails down the mountain, and skiers, snowboarders, and riders of all experience levels will find the perfect run for their needs. For experienced skiers looking for a thrill, the Challenge and Razor’s Edge are 3,000-foot double black diamond trails. For beginners, Lazy Mile and Paradise offer easy cruises. The ski area is also home to mogul fields and terrain parks.

Tubing and Other Activities at Blue Mountain Ski Area

If you’re not a skier but you still want to get in on the winter fun, then Blue Mountain Ski Area has you covered. The Snow Tubing Park at Blue Mountain is billed as “the most fun you can have sitting down.” It’s the only tubing park in the area and offers 21 lanes of downhill tubing, each measuring over 1,000 feet long.  There are three lifts to take tubers back to the top of the hill.  The Blue Mountain ski and tubing area is also open during winter months for mountain biking, laser tag, adventure courses, and disc golf.
