Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Lehigh Valley
Bethlehem Peepsfest
Without a doubt, Bethlehem Peepsfest is one of the most unique events in town. This two-day festival welcomes the new year with live music, magicians, balloons animals, and plenty of kid-friendly entertainment. The day culminates in the PEEPS Chick Drop. Rather than using a disco ball at midnight, this beginning of the new year will be celebrated at 5:15 p.m. on December 31 with the descent of a 400-pound, 4-foot, 9-inch tall lit PEEPS Chick- a giant replica of the favorite candy. Families should not miss the chance to experience Peepsfest at least once! Enjoy the fun at SteelStacks, which is just a six-minute drive from Sayre Mansion.
The Sofa Kings’ New Year’s Eve Party
This event gives a new meaning to a rockin’ night! The Sofa Kings, a beloved local band, hosts the party of the year at Musikfest Cafe. This 10-piece band covers all genres, from classic rock to current pop hits. Tickets range from $15-$50. Musikfest Cafe is just a six-minute drive from Sayre Mansion.
Watch a Fireworks Show in Downtown Allentown
While Bethlehem doesn’t host a fireworks show of its own, the nearby town of Allentown puts on an extraordinary New Year’s Eve party. Some of the town’s best restaurants, like the Allentown Brew Works or The Hamilton Kitchen, are hosting their own parties. Once you’ve finished your meal, head to the heart of the city (in front of the Lehigh County Government Center) to enjoy live music and fireworks! Allentown is just a 20-minute drive from Bethlehem.
