The Sayre Mansion is just a little over two miles from all of the big name acts and first-class entertainment found at Wind Creek Bethlehem (formerly Sands Casino Resort). The Events Center hosts hundreds of concerts, theatrical shows and special events each year. So why not turn your night out on the town into the ultimate overnight getaway?

This spring visitors to the Lehigh Valley can enjoy an impressive lineup of well-known artists from the world of music, comedy and pop culture at Wind Creek. Here are some highlights.

Comedy

Stand-up comedian Sebastian Mansicalo brings his Stay Hungry Tour to Bethlehem March 2-3. Dubbed, “the comedian’s comedian,” by People Magazine, he is a fixture on late night talk shows and a regular on Jerry Seinfeld’s, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” on Netflix. Mansicalo is also an accomplished actor with roles in major motion pictures including “TAG” starring Jon Hamm, Ed Helms and Jeremy Renner.  Most recently he appeared in the Academy Award nominated film “Green Book” and has a part in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming “The Irishman” alongside Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci.

Mark your calendars for Lewis Black, March 9. The Grammy Award winning comic with an unmistakable voice made a name for himself with appearances on “The Daily Show.” He has since racked up an impressive list of credits including specials on HBO, Comedy Central and Showtime. Black is also a best selling author and actor. In 2015 he lent his signature irascible persona to voice the character, “Anger” in Pixar’s animated hit “Inside Out.” Black performs over 200 shows a year including a recent sold out run on Broadway.

Later this spring you can catch Jeff Ross and Dave Attell in Bumping Mics on May 24. Dubbed the modern-day Don Rickles, Ross is best known for his hit show, “Roast Battle” on Comedy Central. Ross is adept at slinging barbs and puts everyone from politicians to music superstars in the hot seat. His TV and film appearances include “Grandfathered” on FOX and “The Wedding Ringer” with Kevin Hart. Dave Attell has been a fixture on the comedy circuit since the late ’80s. The stand up comic was named one of the 25 Funniest People in America by Entertainment Weekly. Audiences will recognize Attell from numerous appearances on late night TV as well as his own stand up series “Dave Attell’s Comedy Underground” and “Insomniac,” both on Comedy Central and “Road Work” streaming now on Netflix.

Music

Mariah Carey has been a household name since 1989. The superstar appears live in concert at Wind Creek on April 6. The multiple Grammy Award winner is the best selling female artist of all time with 18 Billboard Hot 100 number one singles to her credit. She’ll perform many of her hit songs as well as music from her latest release– “Caution,” during the dynamic stage show.

On April 12, Chicago comes to town. The band earned its place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with enduring hits such as “Saturday in the Park,” “If You Leave Me Now,” “Look Away” and “You’re the Inspiration.” Chicago’s iconic sound blends orchestral music with rock and roll. The band has toured consecutively for 52 years without ever missing a tour date. Their feel-good performances have audiences singing along to songs that have become classics.

In its 40 years in existence, Styx has built a loyal following around the world. Fans in Bethlehem can catch the band during a performance on May 21 at Wind Creek Event Center. Early hits include perennial favorites such as “Come Sail Away,” “The Best of Times” and “Mr. Roboto.” The band proved its staying power with later chart topping singles such as “Show Me the Way” and “Grand Illusion.” Styx has the distinction of being the first group to earn four triple-platinum albums in a row with “The Grand Illusion,” “Pieces of Eight,” “Cornerstorne” and “Paradise Theater.”

Food & Wine Festival

It’s three days of food, fine wine and festivities. The Lehigh Valley Food and Wine Festival, May 31-June 2 is the area’s most celebrated cuisine and beverage event and it all happens at Wind Creek Event Center. In addition to tastings from the region’s top restaurants, wineries, bakeries and distilleries, the festival is peppered with cooking demonstrations, celebrity chef appearances and workshops. Last year James Beard Award winning chef, TV host, cookbook author and Restaurateur Emeril Lagasse was guest of honor and offered a cooking demonstration.
