Take a Martin Guitar Factory Tour

When you take a tour of the factory, you’ll learn about how the guitars are handmade by the incredible craftspersons at C. F. Martin & Company. First, you’ll learn about the art of guitar-making, starting from its origins. Then, you’ll get an overview of how a piece of rough lumber becomes an exquisite instrument, a process that requires more than 300 steps!

The tours run at regular intervals between 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tours last about one hour, and the museum recommends that you wear closed-toe shoes. The frequency of the tours may vary, depending on the season or the demand, and they are completely free!

If you’d like an even closer look at how C. F. Martin and Company operates, book the Behind the Scenes Tour. Available by appointment from Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m., these tours are for guests 18 or older and are $25 per person. These tours last about two hours and are only for groups of six or fewer. Long pants and fully enclosed, rubber-soled shoes are required.
