Zoellner Arts CenterLehigh University is an integral part of life in Bethlehem, PA.  Part of their impact on the town comes from Zoellner Arts Center. Zoellner Arts Center Background

Built in 1996 and opened in 1997, the Zoellner Arts Center combines the education of Lehigh University students with professional facilities that also play host to public concerts and events.  According to the Zoellner Center site, “The center’s mission is to create an environment where artists and students of the arts develop and learn; to educate, captivate and inspire performers and audiences by presenting a variety of vibrant, high-quality performing arts events, exhibits and scholastic programs; and to develop new audiences.”

 

The center has three main performance  facilities: Baker Hall, Diamond Theater, and Black Box Theater.  There is also a two story art gallery which features student exhibitions as well as those of guest artists.  Zoellner Arts Center is also home to rehearsal spaces, a dance studio, classrooms, a music library, dressing rooms, a costume shop, scene shop, and recording studio. In the past, renowned performers such as Yo-Yo-Ma,  the New York Philharmonic, Itzhak Perlman,  Tony Bennet, Lily Tomlin, Bernadette Peters, Queen Latifah, Natalie Cole, Bobby McFerrin, and Garrison Keillor have appeared at the center.
